It’s a great day at Newbury!
I hope this email finds our friends impacted by the Hurricane safe and sound. If Newbury is a harbinger for the housing recovery, count us among the lucky. Newbury had its best sales month EVER in October, selling 6 homes. This broke our previous record of 5 sales in a month which we had done twice. The much anticipated Park and Sled Riding Hill are complete and look for the fire, sleds, and red cheeks on LOTS of kids…and kids at heart later this year!
I am pleased to announce that 84 Lumber closed on its beautiful new store within Newbury last week. We simultaneously took ownership of the old store which will become the entrance to Newbury Market. The demolition of the old 84 Lumber store on Route 50 is underway which will make way for The Gateway Shoppes at Newbury Market. Starting next Spring, Newbury will begin work on the offsite road improvements that will support Newbury Market. You’ll see construction along the Exit to Interstate 79, Route 50, Millers Run, Presto Sygan and Thoms Run Roads. These improvements will be shortly followed by construction of the Gateway Shoppes at Newbury Market. We have finalized Letters of Intent with our new tenants for the Gateway Shoppes and hope to have permission from our tenants to formally announce whose coming later this year. Work also continues on finalizing all tenants for Phase One of Newbury Market. Work on the 88 acre Market begins next Spring as well. Infrastructure development, construction of the bridge to access the Market as well as sewer, storm and all other infrastructure including grading and roads will be underway. Once this massive effort is completed, Newbury Market’s grand opening will occur in 2014!
I am also pleased to announce that construction of Newbury Village, the 250 home garden apartment community within Newbury, will also be underway next Spring as well. This work will usher in the neighborhood pool and clubhouse and the newest and best rental apartment community in the region.
We are truly blessed and appreciate the continued strong support and efforts of the great teams and people that have helped make and continue to help make Newbury a great success…and the NEW Heart of the South Hills of Pittsburgh!
Respectfully,
