Pittsburgh Tops Forbes List as “Most Livable City”

In recent years, Pittsburghers have grown accustomed to hearing that their city ranks among the most livable in America, and this trend proves to have no end in sight with the announcement of yet another accolade. Forbes Magazine has named Pittsburgh as “America’s Most Livable City” for 2010, following a tenth place finish in ’09. This is the first time that Pittsburgh has led the Forbes list, however the city has previously claimed the top spot for both Places Rated Almanac (2007) and the Economist (2005, 2009). Hopefully, Pittsburgh can add to these titles and continue a run that is starting to resemble a certain dynasty from the ‘70s. Forbes compiled their list through the implementation of five data points, which included unemployment, crime, income growth, cost of living and cultural opportunities. The article details Pittsburgh transformation from an industrial hub into a center for education and multimedia arts, while also holding true to their tradition. Tradition is also at the heart of the community at Newbury and with innovation as well as quality we hope to provide a boost in claiming the top ranking again in 2011.
