Founded in 1960, the Three Rivers Arts Festival has become a staple of Summer in the Pittsburgh area. With a mission to connect the community to arts and culture, as a division on the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, the festival provides a variety of exhibits and shows for all ages. The free event boasts a line-up of over 100 programs in locations around the city, from Point State Park to the Cultural District. This year’s event is also putting an emphasis on green initiatives and is a participant in the World Environment Day. The festival itself is a 10-day affair and began last weekend, but will continue through this Sunday, so be sure to check out some of the events before it comes to a close.
